Downtown Golden, CO
Quite a few Pentaxians have emailed me asking to see where Pentax's US headquarters are. After a storm on Monday, today dawned sunny and clear. Since my condo is in downtown Golden, I took a few shots from my balcony with the K20D and the DA 35mm Macro lens. My corner condo view is pretty limited, but I can see our office which is only a few hundred yards away, and makes for a pretty easy commute. I also have a nice view and two minute walk to one of my other favorite places...Starbucks.

While we also have snow in Boston, the surroundings are nowhere near as beautiful as yours. I guess I'm just envious all around :-)

Colorado is a beautiful place. I guess you commute on the weekends to San Clemente. I once had an assignment in Durango, Colorado and enjoyed it a lot. I was there for three Months.
Golden is very picturesque.
Let me know when you want me to move there!
Thanks for the photos, Ned, they bring back some very positive memories when we lived on Green Mountain from 92-96. I used to mountain bike from my house to work (where the big shopping area is now) and at lunch we would go to the top of Table Mesa. But that was 15 years and 40 pounds ago, sadly. The good thing is you are only a couple blocks from the Coors brewery and you can take the "Short tour" and go straight to the hospitality room.

Joe, thanks for stopping by my blog. The white K2000's should be available early February. We're only bringing in 500 units, and based on reaction at CES, I think they'll sell out fast.
Thanks Ned! I am part of our university's Educational Technology Advisory committee. This little white camera would make a nice replacement for my aging DS It would also make quite a splash with the committee and at all the events I photograph.
I will keep my eyes open for its release.

I'm from Golden, having grown up in Applewood and graduated from Golden Senior High in '79. I was downtown in Golden with a Pentax Auto 110 or a Canon FX whenever I could manage it. I got my photographic supplies at Foss Drugstore right downtown.
If I recall correctly, Pentax USA came to be located in Golden, CO, because it was once the home of Heiland, the flash manufacturer which became a division of Honeywell, which imported Pentax cameras, which in the end became Pentax, USA. Or do I have it wrong?
Anyway, still a monster fan of Pentax. My *ist DS has more than 100,000 shutter actuations and it is still going strong.
