Photos were all shot in RAW with a K20D and processed in CS3 to produce jpegs for posting here on blogger. No adjustments were made to the images, except for the snapshot of my wife. I had to crop this photo, as I shot this quickly by turning and firing and ended up with a falling horizon in the background.
I was really pleased to see that dpreview already posted their review of this lens in the past few days. Being a new lens, I didn't expect to see their review up this quickly. I'm puzzled by one of Andy Westlake's comments about construction and his choice of a zoom lens to compare against a prime, but overall, I thought this review was even handed and well done.

This in second on my list first is a mysterious new camera for my press and editorial course. Your photos show it off much better than dpreview's do.. I do sometimes wonder if they are actually photographers or just geeks more interested in specs.. but it was a surprisingly pleasant review for them.

What a relief to just see some good "real world" pictures taken with a great little lens that is the 15mm Limited. I wish I had a beach near by to go take walks, but here it's all desert or rocky mountains.
I really like the appearance of this focal length, especially with its well controlled distortion. Besides its small size, I think this is its real advantage compared to similar zooms.
On this note, the more choice Pentax can give consumers at the wide-angle side of the spectrum, the less important a full frame offering from Pentax will be. I wouldn't mind seeing digitally optimized and improved versions of the FA20 f/2.8 or the FA* 24 f/2, for example.
Just a humble request. Not that you don't get enough of those already :)
I think the comparison with a zoom made sense in this case. Typically Zoom lenses compromise a bit of quality for convenience of having a range of focal lengths. And thats why you dont compare primes with zooms, since each of them makes a different compromise.
But in this case they are saying that the Zoom even has better image quality, thus taking away the main reason to use prime lenses. So in this case the main reason left to use this lens is the size and build. A very apprppriate comparison and analysis I believe
