With the K-7 can you adjust audio input levels or is that a job on the external mic? how about plans for manual controls such as iso? & shutter speed? anyway headup for allowing aperture control!

Is the HDMI port (or USB) active during video? Can you use an external monitor while filming? And is there any way to monitor the sound?
Lastly... my pre-order is placed. Any idea when the cameras will start showing up in the US?
also is the 3 year warranty worldwide or just USA?

However, I thought we could do AF (by pressing AF button) during video recording, but JCPentax confirmed the final firmware wouldn't allow users to do that. :(

Looks great. I saw this video in the presentation video on YouTube, and wondered if it's from Pentax, but I guess it's not.
I'm really looking forward to getting my K-7 :) Video with all my lenses will be a fun experience. I've been looking forward to this feature ever since the Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 5D Mark II arrived. I'm glad autofocus is possible, aperture control is possible, and the LCD is bigger and has higher resolution :) Great job!
Errrr, I'd like to use an external mic but would want something a little smaller than that thing!
I'm looking forward to quality HD video but the internal mic doesn't look like it will cut it. Some external an insulated from the internal body noises but I don't want to have to get a degree in sound recording!
Ned, what about weather seals when the mic gets plugged in? (It might not be an issue, but I am curious)

i'm a professional photographer from italy. first week of next month i'll be in pamplona for san fermin festival of bulls. Currently i have k20d but i think this festival could be a good test for the new camera.
The problem is that i could buy it in italy before going there.

Do you have the specs on the recorded audio? I'm hoping for 16 bit 48Khz, but I'd be surprised if it is capturing that much data. I'm intrigued to use my ltd primes with the K-7 for video, but I need good audio capture. The plan is to use an external portable mixer along with wireless lab and boom.

The "Pentax-Photo-Clip"
An image with attached an audio trace long for istance 6 or 8 or 10 sec maximum. composed by 4 or 6 seconds before the click, the click sound, and the remaining time after the click.
This can help to imagine how and why the photographer decide to shot, adding a new dimension to the photo file.
