Nice that you included both pages from the photo section. As the old adage goes: you are only as good as the company you keep. For the as-yet unconverted Pentaxians, the Pentax shares the glow with good company. Seems like a well-written article, most of the cameras are chosen are in-the-know models. (But a page is missing? The D90 blurb mentions a Canon.)
Ned: are you dropping some hints with that last page or what? Is it about the Leica's bright viewfinder and overall feel, isn't it? :-)

I think it's unfortunate that they consider the K2000 a beginner's camera. What it is is a COMPACT DSLR that's easy to use. You don't need to be a beginner to appreciate that.
Compact and reliable, with all the controls in the right places - like the MX was 'back in the day'!

It has been quite some time since we have communicated! BTW, this recognition is not a surprise to me. Another magazine, Outdoor Photographer has in the past published very positive experiences or recommendations. They have documented the benefits of using Pentax gear for nature related work, more than once!
I really believe that the Pentax system is a great buy for the outdoor-oriented person not wanting to worry too much about their gear standing up to the elements.
The reaction by folks still surprises me (that they are surprised) when I tell them my system of choice is Pentax. I hope I can continue to show what can be done with the Pentax camera system - the image quality is really hard to beat.
Still looking for a certain lens... 8-)
