Pentax Event at International Center Photography

Last Wednesday night, September 16th, Pentax held a media event to announce the new and colorful K-x at the International Center of Photography in New York City. Guests included press and media from traditional photo magazines, trade, business and lifestyle publications, as well as web-based camera review and photography sites, tech/gadget sites, and independent bloggers. In addition to the press, we had many of our dealers join us for the event and reception.

We chose the International Center of Photography to host this event for two reasons. One, the Center is a perfect venue to announce a new camera (K-x). Secondly, we have renewed our corporate sponsorship with the center after almost a twenty year hiatus. This K-x event will hopefully be the first of several more events and activities that Pentax undertakes in partnership with the Center.

While I had no time to take photos of the activities, Melissa Rosner of the multimedia production company we hired to video the event was kind enough to take some still photos, which I have included in this post.

We are in the process of editing a video of the event, and I should be able to post a link to this video in the next week or two.

Samy's "No Sales Tax" Promotion

For those who live in Southern California, Samy's will be holding their annual "No Sales Tax" promotion, from September 6-13. Please note this is an in-Store only event - this promotion is not available online. Samy's typically advertises these sales in both the LA Times and OC Register, but in case you don't get these papers, I thought I would post the details about this event here.
