Photo Notes: As I had taken my K-x and DA 16-45mm with me to get some snapshots of the birthday party, I decided to continue shooting with this combination for our Sunday activities at the beach and back home in the spa.
I realized the range of photos, from flash, low light to bright outdoors of a family event with the DA 16-45mm lens might give some of you an indication of how this lens can perform. As I have not shot with this lens in a few years, the recent fishing trip photos and this series of family photos give you a good range of subject matter to evaluate and draw your own conclusions.
All images were shot in RAW and processed into jpegs for posting on blogger using Adobe Camera Raw 5.5 and PhotoShop CS4. Click on any of the thumbnails to see larger image. The small FG200 Flash was used for the indoor party shots.

Ned,
One cool thing about having a blog and putting photos of grand kids (like I do myself on my blog),is that the readers can see the changes in the children as they grow up. It's a little bit like all the readers are friends of the family. I have seen your grandchildren grow up in the last 3 years + that I have been following your blog.
It's probably feel the same for my readers.
Best Regards and you have a wonderful family.

Ned,
I have truly enjoyed looking at your photo's and think they are great. I bought the K7 as soon as it came out and sold my k20 and K200. I love the K7 except one big problem I can not use Pentax's remote assistant with it. I have been contacting Pentax quite often about it but nobody seems to know if they will come out with a new remote assistant or a firmware update and was hoping you might know. Thank you, James
Yvon,
You're so right about being able to see the grand kids or other family members change over time...through years of posting their photos on blogs like yours or mine.
Edward Steichen's exhibit and book, "Family of Man" had a tremendous influence on my interest to record photographs of my own family.
I wonder if Steichen were alive today whether he'd find a blog a far better way as he said "to prove visually the universality of human experience and photography's role in its documentation".
Best Regards and let me know when you plant your tomatoes this year!
Ned
Great shots Ned, once again! Last days i've received my new Pentax, who is, in fact, another k10d (i've owned one before). I think that maybe it was more ok a K-X, but eventually the K10D is much closer to what I need and K20D or K-7 are pretty expensive for my possibilities. I appreciate K-X's native qualities, but of course it has enough disadvantages compared to K10D, which of course you know them. I'm watching this blog for a while and I wish we could talk in private about certain things about Pentax. If i'm not asking too much, please send me a contact method for you or send me an e-mail @ djgaby@gmail.com. Many thanks!
Regards,
Gabriel
