If you have a Pentax DSLR, you should immediately recognize the world's best 31mm lens, The Pentax 31mm f/1.8 Limited. You can also right click on the picture and look at Properties...31mm+vs+35mm.jpg You can actually read it on the lens when you click on the picture to see it full size. The other lens is a Leica Summicron-M f/2 35mm lens.
I'd go for my DA*16-50. Probably be the case that it's gonna be wet, or whatever... and there is no better lens for those conditions. Of course... with my K20.
Hey Ned, lets have another guess what this is for the DA 15 Limited or the DA*30 or something like that. Maybe I will check your blog more then. I kinda get bored with you posting way less than I check your blog! :-)
I agree with you this is a fab lens, how-ever I really struggle to understand the new Km camera, especially the white one, and I'm a young 19 year old. It's a nice idea having a small dslr but i think you missed a killer feature of video and you guys really need to market the primes more. Especially if you want to show how small the camera and lens can be and the brilliant quality. Many pros know pentax make the best primes but amateurs don't. You should market the pentax photo gallery more too! It's a great resource for showing what each lens and camera can produce! So why not use it!?

I was able to use that lens briefly and all I can say is WOW! The build quality & feel is excellent and even when used on a DSLR. I do hope that this lens should be produced again.

The FA31 is fine, but more universal specially also for portrait photos is the FA43 - my personal one lens if stranded on a island.

I'm with you Ned.... the FA 31 is on my K10D 90% of the time.... although for my M8, I got with the 35mm Summilux ASPH rather than the Summicron. ;)
