  1. Great info, Ned.

Any idea whether a Cokin ring would work on this lens? This would be very important for landscapes.

  3. Thanks Ned. I will need this for my White K2000.

BTW - I am surprised how fast and consistent the AF is on my little stormtrooper cam. It is a real joy to use.

  4. Hi Ned, thanks for posting. And with a lovely-but-sort-of-rare *ist DS2! Let me take this opportunity to repeat my request for a compact body with pentaprism viewfinder like that DS2. Not all compact bodies have to be entry-level spec'ed (think MX, MZ-5n, MZ-S, etc.).

My question is--does that DA15 lens cap attach by screwing it into the filter threads? If so I hope it threads easily & isn't annoying. Anyway, this one looks like a beaut...

    Now the important question is:
who will give this to me for free. ;)

  7. I cannot wait for this lens to be avaiable.

Then I can get rid off my pentax Da* 16-50mm f2.8!!!

  8. Now I want to see a bundle deal were you can get all 4 lenses with the cool case for around a $1000 :). I know I'm dreaming but that would be a cool holiday bundle.

  9. Hi Ned, I picked up the DA15mm here in Tokyo the day it went on sale, March 27th, at BIC Camera and was able to use it for a shoot the following day -- group portraiture with monoblocs in some very tight quarters, and it did not disappoint.

My copy is sharp all the way around, even wide open, and has little distortion when carefully positioned, at least compared with my DA14mm. And the build quality is, of course, outstanding.

Pentax has produced another extraordinary prime.

  10. Thanks for leaving your comments. I'm going to be in Tokyo shortly. If I don't get a hold of a production version of the DA15 before I leave, I just might have to go to the BIC store (which is a few blocks from my hotel in Ikebukuro) and buy one :)

  11. It looks sweet :) I have to sell my 16-50mm due to financial reasons, so later I'll get this and the 35mm macro to replace it. I have the 50-135mm which is out of this world to start from 50 and up.

How is the 15mm Limited and 35mm Macro Limited fitting into the small pouch you displayed earlier? =)
